Peter Kinder endorsed by National Rifle Association in Lt. Governor Primary

Kinder endorsed by NRA in Lt. Governor’s Primary
Gets “A+,” NRA cites “strong record of support on Second Amendment”
Press Release - Peter Kinder's Office
The NRA has announced its endorsement of Missouri Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder in the August 7 Republican primary, citing his “strong record of support on Second Amendment issues.” Kinder received the NRA’s top A+ rating, along with the sole endorsement of America’s gun rights advocacy organization in the primary for Lieutenant Governor.
Lieutenant Governor Kinder’s primary opponent, State Senator Brad Lager, was asked by the NRA to take down his TV ad indicating he had received the respected NRA “A+” rating, since Lager had not actually received that rating nor the NRA’s endorsement.
In a letter to Lieutenant Governor Kinder (attached), NRA Chairman Chris Cox said on behalf of the tens of thousands of Missouri NRA members: “Throughout your career, you have been a leader on issues involving our right to keep and bear arms. That leadership is reflected in your “A+” rating and endorsement by the PVF, the highest rating a candidate can achieve.”
Lieutenant Governor Kinder has been a leader on Second Amendment rights going back nearly two decades to his service as a State Senator, when he co-sponsored right to carry legislation. As Senate President Pro Tem, Lt. Gov. Kinder was credited with leading the successful override of then-Governor Bob Holden’s veto of right to carry legislation.
“I am honored the NRA and its many Missouri members have renewed their longstanding support for my service in public office and my unflinching defense of Second Amendment rights,” Lieutenant Governor Kinder said. “Unlike my opponent in the August 7 Primary, I don’t make up NRA endorsements. The NRA members appreciate that I’m not just a true conservative, but a truthful conservative.”
