JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri auditors have found dozens of open meeting and record problems in local and state government agencies.
The state auditor's office released a summary Wednesday of Missouri Sunshine Law compliance problems found in 59 audits conducted in 2008 and 2009.
The report notes issues with minutes and agendas for public meetings by 47 governmental bodies, as well as problems with the minutes of closed meetings by 30 government entities. And 18 failed to document the justification for a closed meeting.
The auditor said two dozen entities needed to improve their policies for granting public access to open records.
